Hanle Routes Reopen: High-Altitude Circuits Now Accessible for Travelers

Hanle, Ladakh: Hanle roads are mostly accessible, though high passes like Umling La and surrounding high-altitude areas remain highly susceptible to unseasonal snowfall, slippery conditions, and extreme weather.

The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) generally maintains well-laid tarmac leading to Hanle, but several dirt and off-road patches remain in the upper reaches.

With road conditions improving, travelers can now access Hanle through the Leh–Upshi–Chumathang–Nyoma route. Several nearby circuits and scenic roads in the Changthang region are also becoming accessible, offering breathtaking views of the Himalayan wilderness.
